| 1. Instead of using oil in your pans, try a little nonstick spray, wine water or juice.
.Bake broil grill or poach and sautee your food instead of deep frying.
.Reduce the amount of fat in your recipes such as,you can replace 1/2 the oil with applesauce or fruit puree and get equally moist muffins or cakes.
.Instead of basting with butter,,try basting your turkey with chicken broth.
.Try buying the leanest of meats,,also try ground turkey, but when you do,ask for turkey breast- ground turkey,,if not it will be white and dark meat and the skin which will be the same as ground beef nutritionally.
.Try buying low fat in dairy, such as your milk ,yogurt, sour cream and cheese.Low fat evaporated milk will work great in creams and sauces pies and icecreams.
.Chocolate,,,3 tablespoons of cocoa and 1 tablespoon of canola oil will substitute 1 ounce of chocolate when baking. 8.Eggs.Most calories and fat and cholestrol come from the yolk instead of the whites, when cooking you can substitute 2 egg whites instead of one whole egg.
.Try using crunchy cereals instead of the high calories commercial bread crumbs.Such as corn flakes or granola cereals.
.Make and take smaller servings,,such as cut a cake pie ,,dessert into 12 servings instead of 8,,some also use smaller plates. |

| Thank you Donna for the great tips. I highly recommend #3. I always use applesauce for 1/2 the oil in my muffins and really enjoy the flavor! _________________ MARY |
