| Thanks ladies . Since his middle and index finger are currently joined together, he will require further procedures in a few weeks to separate them and maybe more grafting, but hopefully the biggest scare is behind him. _________________ ~ LESS IS MORE ~ |

| Well, he's home! He's currently wolfing down some bacon sandwiches I just cooked for him, he was starving and hadn't been keen on the hospital food so had just had a coffee earlier this morning. Nothing wrong with his appetite I'm about to nip out to the Pharmacy to collect his painkillers and then home to catch up on cleaning and laundry but I'm very relieved he's home. I am working on how to keep his hand aloft tonight while he's sleeping but I have a cunning plan which involves my mobile clothes rail _________________ ~ LESS IS MORE ~ |

| I am so glad your son is back home!
I was not able to read the paragraph with what they did to his hand (thank you for posting the warning), but as long as he is doing well, I am thrilled!
I will keep praying for him, and of course you and hubby.

| Update: DS had his 2nd surgery yesterday to separate his index and middle fingers. It was a day surgery so I worked until midnight on Thursday which enabled me to go to hospital with him for 6:30am on Friday morning. He stayed with us on the Thursday evening and DH dropped us off before going on to work. Everything went okay and DH picked us up around 1:30p.m., we weren't allowed to take a bus as DS had been under a general anaesthetic. DH drove my car and unknowingly got a puncture on the way to collect us, basically he drove on it and the tyre is stuffed so we ended up buying two new tires (another one was close to needing replacement). I didn't get to bed until late afternoon and worked a 10 hour shift overnight on Friday so I'm stuffed today. On the plus side I have one more week of nightshifts so am now off until next Wednesday...I'm looking forward to some 'quiet' time...a rarity these past few weeks! DS will have the procedure checked on and dressings changed next week and the following week will have the sutures removed (and there are a lot!). He still hasn't really seen his fingers since the accident and initial surgery so I'm not sure what his reaction will be, he's very apprehensive. Please keep him in your prayers, I think he'll probably feel a little depressed during the following weeks. He'll also have to work on flexibility after the healing process, I'm not sure if it will end up 100% but the doctor told him it will be a long process. On the very bright side...regardless of appearance...he still has his finger, and that is a miracle. Many thanks to the surgeon. _________________ ~ LESS IS MORE ~ |
