I spoke with the realtor, and she states that the area I'm in is not a good area right now to own a home due to foreclosures.

She said she'd want to list it for $3,000 less than what I owe on it, and then take the commissions out on top of that.

SO... it looks like we may be renting it out.
One good thing is that it is really close to Akron U. That may also be a bad thing. I dont know. Maybe we'll have to wait and see.

I'd love to get a family in there with kids.

*sigh*

What about a land contract type thing,,rent to own deal you could work out with someone.Maybe it would answer prayers to som efamily in need and answer your prayers also..just a thought.

That's exactly what I'd like to do.
I feel that someone on a land contract would take better care of the house than just someone who is renting it out.
Plus, as you said, I'd be helping someone toward their dreams of owning a home.

M, you could also rent it out for a while to help ease outgoing expenses but still put it on the market for sale with 'sitting' tenants. Some investors might find it more appealing with a guaranteed income.
Either way, renting it straight away will ease your financial pressures.
