| Ladies, I would like to ask you for your thoughts and prayers for those affected by today's tornado which touched down about 50 miles away from where I live and caused one death, many injuries, and almost total devastation of the houses and other buildings of one small town. The one blessing in all of this is that there was about a 15 minute warning which allowed people to get to safety.... a day care center with about 140 children was able to get the kids to a bank across the street where they were sheltered in the bank vault... the day care building lost it's roof so was a close call.... _________________ Love is a fruit, in season at all times and within the reach of every hand. | Well it was a little scary again today...more tornado warnings scaring the wits out of people trying to clean up the huge mess...some homes were undamaged, their neighbors homes completely destroyed, lots of potential danger from fallen power lines and damaged gas lines broken by huge trees being uprooted...also I need to correct a mis-reported story...the children from the care center actually did not make it to the bank in time and the brave day care teachers managed to protect the children while the roof of the building was being torn apart, and then they were able to get the kids to the bank when the worst was over...sometimes in these events the first stories are not always correct...lots of chaos....we would help if we could but of course they are keeping people away...it has been declared a disaster, so the national guard is helping out...we will send some money...every bit helps... _________________ Love is a fruit, in season at all times and within the reach of every hand. | Well I am afraid there was more bad tornado news, this time from my home state of Iowa...a tornado hit the town of Parkersburg, about 50 miles east of my home town, 7 deaths and numerous injuries and lots of homes destroyed... I am saddened by all of this and it is so early in tornado season and then of course hurricane season is coming up... _________________ Love is a fruit, in season at all times and within the reach of every hand.
