| I'm sorry to hear that M...I'm sure something will work out soon Renting is not a bad idea, unless you just want it done. |

| Yes, I've contemplated renting the house out ourselves, but I am affraid to. I am a softie. Plus, I still love the house. I would hate to see people doing stuff to it that I dont agree with, or holes in the wall, etc.
Plus, there is alot of work to do to it to sell it (still have to paint the walls, put in carpet, strip some wall paper, etc.)
I am thinking about calling a couple of investment property agencies (one of them, Tood rented from for a year) to see if they're interested in it as is. If not, then we'd have to do all that work, and decide what to do.
I will be calling the two investment companies today to see what they say.
I would like to just be out from under the house.

| I'm sorry the house didn't sell M, maybe you could rent it with option to buy as it is, don't forget the trials you gladly took on with your new house, some young couple may think it's their dream house! | Good idea Donna.
M, I understand your emotional attachment to the house, but remember it's no longer your home. Your new home is your dream home, the Akron house is now a property you own. Try looking at it like that and remove any emotional attachment you have to it. Regardless of whether you decide to rent or sell, you have to 'let go'.
Only do essential jobs at your new home and concentrate on doing something about the Akron house as soon as possible, especially since it's a drain on your finances now. Sit down with Todd and make a decision on whether you would both like to keep it as an investment and rent it or make the decision to sell it. Once you make a decision, then you can take action. If you decide to sell and it absolutely NEEDS a face-lift, just make it as basic as you can, all homeowners have their own tastes so spend as little as you can on it, stick to neutrals and only do what you HAVE to. Maybe Todd and yourself could take a week or two's holiday from work and just get stuck into this project, it's not a great way to spend holiday time but would be worth it in the long-run
Best wishes with whatever you both decide to do, let us know how things pan out for you _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |
