| I clicked yes to everything except #2.I might be tempted to buy a mystery can,,if I wasnt pinching on meals that week,,just for fun. I just bought 2 cans of Bushs baked beans at a 10% discount because they were dented,,we had one tonight and it tasted fine! I have bought veggies and pumpkins from roadside stands in the summer/fall.I will admit that I will buy items they put aside that are close to expiration times,,if they still lok good then I will make it that night when we get home..this way it wont go bad. I think I do as much as possible to save. |

| I often buy items close to expiry dates but either use them straight away or freeze them if that's an option. I will use damaged boxes/packaging as long as the contents are safely sealed. You need to be very careful with dented cans, making sure they're not blown. If you can squeeze them a little and they pop slightly...do not buy/use them. I don't think I'd buy mystery items, if they were very cheap a mistake might be okay but if it was something I wouldn't use I'd just feel I'd wasted my money. _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

I always err on the cautious side with food, having partaken in several food safety & hygiene courses over the years. It's helpful to know what to look out for. _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| You're welcome Donna. I suppose I'm just overly cautious with food packaging, better to put your health first. Minor dents are fine and when I accidentally buy one, or 'less likely' find one in my cupboard, I make sure it gets used a.s.a.p. _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| My husband helped an older woman when he saw that she had picked some cans that were bulging.
She didn't know they could hurt her. |

| I picked all but #2. I have purchased slightly dented cans before without any problems. If they are really messed up I won't buy them.
Most of our meat markdowns are because they expire that dayor the next. I buy them, bring them home and either cook immed, cook and freeze or freeze. If I just freeze them, I cook immediatley upon thawing. _________________ Vicki |
