I checked "yes", but that's how I feel now, after 24 yrs. of marriage, perhaps I wouldn't as a young bride.
If it looked good, I wouldn't mind wearing it...afterall, it was only worn for ONE day!!!Wink

I clicked yes as well as the one that stated if it looks new.
I looked at a dress consignment shop and found a couple that I really liked. The only problem(s):
1.) They were still too darn expensive (over $100 more than what we got a brand new one for).
2.) My bust is too big

I have mine that I want to get rid of. My girls said they wouldnt wear it. Of course the one dd (14) can't fit into it. I was 120 pounds when I married and she is more than that. The other dd put it on one day playing around and it just fit. I will have to find the pictures and show you guys Maybe I will do that later.

At the end of the day, who's gonna know!
This year I bought a 2nd hand dress for a work Xmas dinner, I didn't want to buy something new that I probably wouldn't wear again (which has happened on many previous occasions!). I rarely wear dresses or skirts, I'm a jeans/trousers gal. It cost me $12.50 and got me lots of great compliments, which I suppose, in turn, was kind of a 'cheap thrill'!

I actually sold my wedding dress many years ago, when we were first married we used to live in a tiny house (the 1st one I'd bought on my own) and I'd little enough space as it was. I'm not 'overly' sentimental (except for keeping a few small items that used to belong to my Gran & my DS's 1st shoes). The lovely lady who bought it also took my bouquet (silk) and she had no qualms about using either! It's not like I was planning to wear them again...lol. Also we'd initially planned on having 2 children but after DS was born DH changed his mind and said ONE was enough! He cried A LOT as a baby and was up several times EVERY NIGHT until he was 1 yr old. We both worked and looking back I'm not sure how we managed but you just do! Anyhow....I didn't see the point in keeping my dress ,I doubt DS would've been wanting to wear it! Razz

I would have worn my mother's (if I had a 19 inch waist like she did!) or my grandmother's (if I was 5' tall like she was) or my sister's (if it wasn't a horrid double knit from the 70's) or my SILs (if it wasn't stained from cake and not having been cleaned) or my cousin's (if it wasn't ugly).

I went to bridal shops, discount stores, dry cleaners, everywhere to find a dress. I looked at hundreds of them and tried on so many I lost count after 70. I finally found one that made me feel like a princess (and I was covered in hives at the time) but I didn't want to pay what it cost so I waited another 2 weeks for it to go on sale for 50% off!

If I buy other clothes at a thrift store, why not a wedding dress. Besides, if I didn't tell anyone, who would know?
