| We went through different stages with DS. At one stage we gave a regularly weekly amount, sometimes I'd forget though. For the most part he didn't 'need' money. If he needed money for something he would simply ask. When he was younger he didn't really have set chores....although we began to set a few when he became older (teenager). I know when I was a kid, my sister, brother and I each received a set amount once every week...we got nothing more than this...and of course it was all gone before the night was out _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| | We don't have children but when I was growing up my siblings and I were given pocket money (an allowance). We had standard chores to do but not to earn the money. House chores that weren't typical (painting the front steps, ripping up the garden, re-puttying the windows) would be paid a fee. If I did have children I would do it the same way now. |

| my little kids are 8 and 11 and the grands are 4 and younger Mikey and Sarah get allowance they have chores to do .. Sarah has to feed the cats and make sure the litter clean. Mike does the trash and has to feed the dogs .. We make them save 1/2 and the get to spend 1/2 .. we give the littles allowance the dust and fold washclothes and have to help dust and pick up ... there isnt necessary we just feed their piggy bank _________________ Gayla
