| DH used to save change. I always prefer to use my change when making purchases instead of breaking another note (money's money...lol). Do you reckon you really save more by breaking notes and saving the coins? I've always wondered if this worked. I reckoned it was kind of 6 of one, have a dozen of the other _________________ ~ LESS IS MORE ~ |

| I save when I can ... but with the house, it has been difficult. I like to have control of my finances. I would like to have more money in savings, but there is quite a bit in investments right now (company 401k, my own mutual fund, and a new fund that has several thousand dollars).

| | We have direct deposit into our accounts and we save change at home. Any money we find when we're out walking or whatever though goes into a separate place and at the end of the year we'll donate it. We've got over $50 saved for this so far. |

| Well, when I started walking last summer it was because of my surgery and cancer treatments. I kept finding money so I decided that we should donate it to cancer research.
Funny thing is that we tend to walk the same 2 mile stretch every day and we always find money in the same areas. One day we found 40 coins in the road - someone had just tossed them out of their car or something. Most people I know won't pick up anything less than a quarter. We're not that fussy. |
