I've pretty much used all of the above with the exception of coupons since I never see them here!
I do find buying store/generic brand saves me the MOST money as some lines are almost half the price of brand equivalents. I won't buy store-brands on everything...mostly food staples though.
I've also been saving money by bulk-buying toilet-rolls, cleaning products and dog food, even better when larger packs are on special.
I'm going to start carrying a small calculator in my purse for working out weights on bulk purchases...dogfood comes in different sizes and I'm planning on working it out by price per 100g to see which way is cheaper to purchase it....my old brain ain't what it used to be, I'd rather be exact than approximate Very Happy

I chose buying store brand/generic. The reason I say this, is because Todd and I try to do that on everything we purchase. Plus, when we go to Save-A-Lot, I consider most of what they have there "generic." If I shopped at a "real" grocery store, I would spend 3 times what I do at SAL, I am convinced of it. I can't imagine spending $1.29 for a package of buns (SAL is $0.59), or even $0.99 for canned green beans (SAL is $0.39/can).

I said sales flyers as I plan my menu around the meats and stuff that are on sale. But I also use the cheaper brand - sometimes it happens to be the name brand when on sale and using a coupon. For the most part all of these play an important part in me saving at the grocery store. I really need to concentrate on this area more again since prices are going up.

I chose sales flyer. I do the same thing as Vicki and then I try to use the coupon to go with the item.

I clicked other, because I do some of all the choices:

~store/generic...I buy them if the quality is just as good at a cheaper cost. There are some we like and some not as much.
~coupons...I get a few in the mail and my store doubles those up to .50. If it is also on sale this makes it a big savings.
~sales flyers...I look at it before I go and write down the best sales that I can use.
~menu planning...This would be my least priority as I plan only one to several days ahead, but keep my basic supplies on hand that I use all the time.
~bulk-buying specials...I do this on a limited basis because of lack of storage and a tight budget, but most of the shopping gets done once a month, so if I come across a very good sale or clearance I do try to buy in bulk.
~reduced/clearance...I love it when I can get things marked down!

I shop at a store called Big Lot's for food and health/beauty first in case they have something on my list, because some things are quite discounted. You do have to know your prices though.
