| | These are all good answers for stress,,health is a major one but so is parenting and kids.Money and bills are also a stress factor but I think for me the job can be the most stressful,,having a hard boss to deal with at times,,if the job is lost then theres the money for bills home etc.I think its a stressful circle,,lol |

| I agree! Job pressures add stress for me also but without work my money worries would increase! _________________ ~ LESS IS MORE ~ |

| Wow - 3 people chose "Work." I chose work...
I think it's sad... work should not be the most stressful of everything. After all, for most of us, working just makes someone else rich. Well, maybe just in my case.
I am the one and only Purchasing Agent for a $10+ million dollar small business. The President of the company is my boss...and he is not the easiest man to work with. I also have to communicate with the Sales Reps to get quotes on products they are looking to sell at the best cost so they can continue to make their $70,000+ income a year and complain/pout when they cant get a product for $0.05 less (while I make a about half their income). I also have to communicate with Shipping/Receiving daily, the Sales Manager, the Accountant, the Graphics artist, the Techie ... well heck, I have to communicate with the whole building it seems on a daily basis. That is 20 people I have calling me not including vendors and people trying to get us to be a customer with them! NO WONDER I'M SO STRESSED OUT!
I feel like I cannot get anything done because of problems (either my fault or the venndors), Sales requests, Accounting problems, etc that go on in a single day
I literally have about 300 e-mails a day coming in to me, make probably 50 outgoing calls to vendors a day, and I would say I get a call from SOMEONE at least every 3 minutes of my day. Sometimes I stay on the phone for as long as I can with someone just so no one else can call and request an item. But then they start leaving messages, and I eventually have to deal with them. No wonder I feel like I cant get caught up. And no wonder I feel like I cant ever consentrate on one thing, feel like I'm losing my mind because I cant remember a thing (I think it's because I am constantly going from one thing to another), and the craziness and always being stressed seems to boil over into my personal life. I cant consentrate on one single thing for more than 5 minutes. I lose interest so easily.
I really feel that my job is what is helping to keep me on my Blood Pressure Meds and Anxiety pills. I can go a whole weekend without taking my blood pressure pills. Within 15 minutes of being at work, I can feel my bloodpressure skyrocket. I partially blame my job for the stroke... If it werent for the money (I make a decent living), I would be out of there in a minute. There have been several times I tell myself that once the Akron house is sold, and our bills are all under control at the new house, I will be looking for a that I love. Maybe working with animals, or children. Even if it is a $5/hour pay cut. Now that I think about it, even $10.00/hour paycut.
I think I am going to start looking now before I forget. Something closer to the new house.
I think it is time we start putting our own well beings into first place instead of stress from employers.
Sorry for venting. Todd is always complaining about where he works. When I have bad days, I dont ever want to talk about it. But it looks like it all just came out in this page-long post. Thanks for listening. :-)

| You know M, I totally appreciate what you're saying. If your job is so stressful, is it really worth the extra money? You may be better off in a less stressful job with slightly less money, ultimately stress can cause a lot of damage, healthwise, mentally and emotionally. This last year both DH and I have changed jobs. I earn around the same (probably a little less) but my roster is much better and although it can cause some stress it's less than my previous job. DH is much happier too, he travelled quite a bit and he found all the driving incredibly stressful. His new job is less than 10 minutes drive from home, mine is not much further so he would've saved a lot in petrol/gas expense except he now 'also' has a company ute. I hope things work out quickly with the house sale, etc. and you can consider looking into something less stressful. I know you travel a bit to work also. _________________ ~ LESS IS MORE ~ |

| I have been in your shoes M,,really I have,,but one thing,,I di work a job that Ijust hated,,was being overworked and always working short staff.Never really getting any praise from the job except to give you more work! My husband job was so repeditive it drove him crazy..we decided to find new jobs,,quit the old ones! BUT....we acted to fast and we were so happy to get out of those jobs but they also paid our biills and the lifestyle we were customed too..long story short..thats how we went into debt and struggled with money etc. We are both doing better now than we have in a long time and both love our jobs(except for a moody boss)but we did learn a lesson the hard way!!Be prepared!! Do what you love,,and plan on making lifestyle changes also. |

| My stress is almost always caused by health issues and having to go to doctors a lot, causing more bills, resulting in more stress, and stress can make you ill, so....... _________________ MARY |

| I have to say mine is the lack of money and the bills. I don't work outside the home so there is no stress there, the kids cause me less stress than the money and bill situation and well we were pretty healthy until a few weeks ago when dh was diagnosed with diabetes so that wasn't an issue. _________________ Vicki
