| I was not sure what to mark so I picked other. We do have a budget, but it has to be written out each month because our income can change from month to month. We add up and pay all the bills and then see what is left over and decide how much we have for groceries and gas. _________________ MARY |

| I have a budget written out and have for many years. My budget is per pay (15th & 30th of the month). My first paycheck, 1/2 the mortgage is put into a savings account, my car payment is put into a savings account, I give myself $175 for gas, shopping, food, gifts, everything else. Anything I have over this amount goes toward paying off credit card debt and investing.
My second paycheck, 1/2 the mortgage goes into an account, I pay my utilities, give myself $175 for the next two weeks, and the rest is to pay off credit card bills and investing.
I said in my head, because I know the budget in and out. That does not mean I dont over-spend some months, or underspend others. It kind of evens out, I think (I hope!). :-)

| We don't really have a budget...but we pay a bill every Friday and we spend about the same everywhere else from year to year...not too exciting!

| | My big expenses like mortgage and car payments are budgeted and money is put into a special account just for them. The utilities and food are estimated and accounted for in my head. Savings and investing is done before we get my paycheck so that is always taken care of first. The rest of the money seems to slip through without a lot to show for it. In 2007 I want to make more of a concentrated effort to save more and know where all the money goes. |

| DF - I was thinking the same thing. I would really like to account for everything I spend in 2007. And even stop eating out at my favorite sushi place so much (right now, it is once a week).
That in itself will save at least $1,000. That is money that can be put toward credit card debt, or investing in retiring early! :-)

| I voted for "Other". We definitely have a budget....for things like bills, food, mortgage,etc....and that gets put away first. We even have the vacation account and an envelope we use to budget "Gift" money for a birthday, anniversary, etc. As for spending on other things like clothing, the kids' extracurricular activities, etc. that comes out of my husband's and my "allowance". Sometimes our allowances aren't enough, especially for me~ :seesaw: and that's where the CC comes into play. I usually do pay it all off at the end of each month though. But sometimes I don't and pay half. |
