| we do it all Skin . we make alot of home made gifts . we bake for each other = we draw names , set an amount, my DH and I give the Family a gift but we do buy for the Grands
cant pick just one .

| I had thought about making it 'multiple' choice gayla but that kind of defeated the purpose of the poll question...lol...sorry 
I imagine I do a few also, as will others, but if I picked what I do most...it would be #1.

| I have a certain amount taken out of my check every week and put into an account for Christmas. From there we approximate a set amount for each person.
My eldest sister would like to remove gift giving completely but the rest of us like to give presents. We've told her she can give it up if she wants but that doesn't have to stop the rest of us. I don't need to get a gift from her to give her one. I've suggested we all make things because we all have special talents in that way but big sis is still being a pain about it.
I suggested that my parents give us things from the house so the last couple of years we've all gotten something that we would have inherited anyway and it saves my parents money. My brother got a painting that he's always loved and he got tears in his eyes when he opened it up. |

| That's a lovely idea for your parents to pass on treasured items from home DF, lots of memories with those too
I also like the idea of a Christmas account, I wouldn't mind doing this just for our own household as I pick-up (or make) things for family and close friends throughout the year.
I also enjoy the gift-giving part of Christmas but I can appreciate the added stresses this can bring, not just monetary, but worrying over what to give and if it will be appreciated or even used! I know a few would frown upon homemade gifts although I personally feel they should appreciate the fact that someone has put time and effort into this, some people are just impossible to please I suppose.
I'm not keen on gadget-type gifts, I'm more into consumable, wearable, re-usable these days...i.e. food, toiletries, clothing, cd's, dvd's etc...I hate the thought of 'wasting' money, if that makes sense.

| I clicked combination of things..we draw names for hubbys family,,my family dosent seem to stay in touch with each other since mom passed away.We also have a set amount (20.00) to spend on that family member and everyone buys for kids 18 and under.When your 18 then you go into the adult drawing.
I am starting Christmas already,,when I get coupons for Hobby Lobby or Joanns,,they are like 40 and 50 % off a item,,I pick up a gift each that way.Christmas is my favorite holiday. |

This is exactly what we do, also. Thank Goodness for that budgeted Christmas account, I say! Then I will usually alot $25 per individual (family member), or $50 for a couple, or a family. Individual Friends/teachers/etc. get a bit less.
As for my "immediate' family, like my kids, I am allowing a budget of $100 per child this year. Stuff costs so much these days....they will just have to be thankful for whatever they get.
I also usually have a little left over from the Christmas account each year after buying the gifts...which we then add onto our emergency account by january 1st. I'm all for feeling good about everything (especially money!!) by the beginning of each new year!!~ who can't relate to THAT!!~

| We make some homemade gifts, like cookies and candy. Actually, we start shopping for Christmas when all the after-Christmas sales happen. Our town had it's yearly festival, and this past weekend was the big arts and craft show. We purchased some hand painted Christmas pins for the nieces to go into their treasure chests we bought on sale. If we happen to see something we think someone would like for a gift, we purchase it and don't wait until the "official" shopping season ends.
Then, there's re-gifting  I know people's hearts are in the right place, but if you can't use a gift, you just can't use it. |

| This weekend is a big Christmas in July sale .. We are making cupcakes and cookies for bake sale
