Spoke to Todd this morning on the way into work and I broke down in tears.

We have decided that we are on a spending freeze for the rest of the month.

M., It sounds as if you are under some stress, and unexpected expenses in tough financial times can sure do that to a person. The same thing has happened in my home, and I really feel STRESSED, so I completely understand. I am praying for you and Todd as you work through this together.

I am with you both!! We only have $10 this week for food...we are getting milk, flour, creamer... Smile

PLEASE remember this...God will provide for our needs DAILY...scripture tells us to not borrow tomorrows troubles...He will provide. hope this brings a little joy to your hearts...Don't let the lack of money steal your joy!

Donna and Kim, what lovely words of encouragement and I feel blessed because you are praying. Another sweet example of the compassion and encouragement that is present on this site! This is a bad time financially for us (and so many others) and it can get discouraging when the income drops so low, the prices rise very high and the bills come rolling on in.
However I still have peace even in the midst of turmoil. Prayer and living on faith give me the strength to hold on. We have been in this situation many times before and so have a lot of practice pinching those pennies and learning to live without many things. Thanks again for making me smile and giving joy. Very Happy

Kim, I also would enjoy hearing about your frugal meal plans this week. I love hearing how others "make do".

Ladies, I'm praying for comfort for you during these stressful financial periods.

M, I really feel for your situation as we were in a very similar one around 2 years ago. Please focus on renting out the Akron home A.S.A.P. It will ease a lot of financial pressure. Concentrate your efforts on this, it's so easy to get disheartened about other things when you feel overwhelmed. *BIG HUGS*

Ok ladies...let's put a smile on here....we are living in the most prosperous nation there is! I am SICK of fussing over what we may NOT have...let's get with it here! We are SOOOOOOOOOO blessed and fortunate...and there are so many with much less...and on the bright side we have each other Smile

Ok, so I sent Rob with the only $10 we have and he's now going to get laundry soap instead of flour...LOL...
We have some stuff here on hand...last night we had rice with homemade spaghetti sauce, squash from our garden, and deer meat. tonight we will have rice with homemade white sauce and mixed vegies and bread and butter, thursday we will have jelly sandwiches and hard boiled eggs in the woods with the kids, and Friday we will have noodles with homemade spaghetti sauce and green beans from our garden with venison...
see our jam/jelly was made when we could harvest berries, our veggies canned from the garden, and our meat killed by hubby, and eggs from the chickens... Smile

we eat eggs and toast for breakfast, and bologna, jelly or eggsalad sand. for lunch with some fruit cocktail...we are good to go!

Just like the good old days Kim,,Im trying to be more from scratch on a few things,,but like soups,sauces etc.
