I was at the store purchasing a birthday card and wrapping paper. The woman in front of me was jabbering away on her cell phone. She had paid for her purchase and was standing there talking, so, I just pushed her out of the way with my arm. I never excused myself. I really pissed her off, but at the time I just didn't care. This is the second time in two days this has happened with people not moving out of line once they've paid because they're on the phone.

OK, I was nasty, no excuses. I guess I'll just offer it up and try harder to be nice the next time this happens. Thanks for letting me vent.

People on cell phones do seem totally out of it at times Sissy. It amazes me the amount of people that apparently can not shop without cell phones attached to their ear.
I can not stand it when somone is talking on their phone while they are sitting on the toilet, in a public restroom. It feels like an invasion of my right to pee in privacy!! Rolling Eyes

people with cells dong have a clue on lady was on her phone and the boy took her groceries out he came back took her hand and led her out .

Aw Sissy. I am so sorry that happened. I know you feel bad but I must say that I would have upset me also! Sometimes people just don't think about other people and sometimes they don't care about anyone but themselves!

I NEVER NEVER answer my cell in line! It is SOOOO rude! I only talk on my cell when it won't interupt what I'm allready doing...that's waht voice mail is for right!!!!

It was very rude of that woman, Sissy, and you had a very natural reaction to her rudeness....actually as a former cashier...it really was up to the cashier to ask the woman to please move so the other customers could check out also...you should not have had to fight for your right to be checked out in a timely manner....

I used to be a cashier also and would find it incredibly rude when people would carry on a conversation on their phones while I was processing their transaction. I would wait until they'd finished before taking or returning money (or processing their cards) so that I had their attention, I wasn't prepared to be held responsible for any mistakes because they were distracted. It's incredibly rude of them to act or make you feel like you don't exist. It's incredibly thoughtless and yes...I was being a little bit obstinate...lol...but well deserved I reckon...so I know how you felt Sissy.

Here in any of the city or county or state government places where you wait in line to do your business (driver's license, etc) there are signs near the the clerks, asking people to not talk on their cell phones while doing business....seems to me that those signs should be retail stores as well...

There was a woman who actually answered her cell at sunrise service during prayer . several of us were speechless needless to say

We were in a movie theatre once and a guy answered his mobile phone during the film and carried on a conversation!

Thanks everyone for your stories. I think the lesson here is rudeness begets rudeness, and I am just as much as fault. Lesson learned.
