I've got even better news!
I got something in the mail today for 4.99% on balance transfer for the life of the "loan." The last one I was approved for was 5.99%. I went online to see if I could get it, and I got approved!!!!! YIPPEE!

I will cancel the credit card for the 5.99% balance transfer when I get it in the mail, and use the 4.99%. I wanted an interest rate lower than our mortgage, and our mortgage rate is at 5.99%, so I have met my goal.

The 1% difference saves me $120.00/year for however many years it takes to pay off the balance.

I am so excited...

I got one more thing off of my New Year's Resolution list!
Today, I got paid...and there is more money than usual, which means I got a bonus from work!

SO...
New Years resolution #1 (Accumulate emergency fund) is complete!
New Years resolution #3 (consolidate credit cards to lower interest for life of balance transfer) was completed yesterday!

I have a list of realtors in the Akron area that I would like to start calling this weekend to see about renting out the Akron house... I just have to be motivated enough to make the calls.

I have been thinking of an updated New Years Resolution list at work, and I have many more items to add. I will post it later when I get home from work.

This is going to be my PRODUCTIVE year for once.

Todd and I have been doing GREAT on our budget, but two unexpected charges came up recently that will add another $300 to my credit card bill. So, my resolution(s) will be:

1.) Accumulate money for the unexpected bills (not savings money, but unexpected charges money) of at least $500.
2.) Start a cleaning schedule (Monday, vaccuum/shampoo carpets, Tuesday, clean bathroom, etc. etc. etc.) so house is not always in disorder.
3.) Consolidate my 2 credit card bills into one with hopefully a low interest rate for the life of the balance (Todd has a 3.9% one - and it has been working out great!)
4.) Get on the treadmill at least 30 minutes a day : and try to weight train a couple times a week
5.) Eat less (portion control) / and choose more healthy choices
6.) Try to rent/sell Akron house
7.) Have a huge garage sale in the Spring to get rid of some of this junk!!! (it will take many, many months to go thru everything to see what we want to sell, and what we want to keep for the new house. The new house is still a complete and utter mess.)

OOOHH!!! DF...a yardsale sounds like fun Very Happy
It'd involve a fair bit of work though, there're many sites on the internet offering advice on how to make it run as smoothly as possible, most important was to make sure everything was priced, people hate to have to keep asking. You can label/price items individually or put things on 'set' price tables but you'd have to be careful people didn't move things around on you! I researched before we had one a few years ago. I enjoyed it but was disappointed with some items we had left over.
