I didn't exactly know where to put this post, so I just put it here.
Just finished reading this book, have you finished it yet, Vicki?
What did you think of it?

Yes I finsihed this book. I thought it was very interesting. Would love to know how they did it. I could never go that low even if I wanted to. They had some really good points in the book also.

Well,the author said it wasn't exactly about a "hundred dollar holiday" ,that he just named the book that because it sounded good( Wink

).
but instead it is to inspire you to have your idea of "enough" on Christmas for the least you can spend. So,for some it could be $200,or $500, etc.
I know I could never just spend $100.
It was interesting, but short. Not enough ideas,perhaps. A better book that is very similar,Vicki, is: "Debt-proof your Holidays" by Mary Hunt and I know there is one by Elaine St. James...I think it may be called "Simplify your Holiday"..."Simplify your Christmas", something like that. (I thought I had that book but I can't seem to find it. Maybe I read it from the library)
I'd like to read "Unplug the Christmas Machine", too....but I'm afraid I won't have time for it THIS month. I am now reading, "What the Bible says about Healthy Living" by Rex Russell (You know, for the New Year! Wink

) I thought maybe I would get a pep-talk and some ideas about eating better for the New Year.
"Hundred Doller Holiday" was a good read, though. Short isn't bad...I got to read it in the airport goin' to Disney World, and in the airport coming back, and finished it.
I think the whole idea of all those books and this forum in general is that there is no need to go overboard with spending(on any holiday, vacations, etc.)...enjoy yourself, and enjoy life, without extreme spending.
There is a "level" of comfort & joy that we can all get without buying everything that catches our fancies.

My feelings exactly cheapy. Well said!! I will have to check out the "What the Bible says about Healthy Living" by Rex Russell book. I restarted the South Beach Diet last Friday and it is going okay but would love to read this book and see what I could use from it.

another one for my wish list...

I have managed to keep my Christmas reasonable I have to get the fruit and nuts for the stocks and Christmas candy for the family and my DH husband chocolate box ( I put his favorite chocolate in shoe box that from me ) this year I am putting a little something special in his box
