| I feel on such a 'downer' at the moment. I don't know if it's a post-Christmas thing, PMT (which I suffer badly from), left-over frustration from the harrassment issues at work, over-thinking everything...or a combination of the lot!
It's been a bad week or two, I know I'll shake it eventually...maybe I need HRT or something...lol.
Anyone got tips for cheering oneself up???
I should plan that 'frugal' mini-holiday for our anniversary I think, might help to have something to look forward to in a few months _________________ ~ LESS IS MORE ~ |

| I am sorry you are having a down time right now :-(
I dont know if you have any animals, but mine always cheer me up. Also, talking to a friend helps.
Also...I love to eat chocolate! Gorge myself. Oh wait...that's probably why I have a problem with my weight!

| Skin - I'm so sorry that you are feeling down in the dumps lately. The ladies have all given you some great tips. Sometimes reading my bible and praying helps me. A visit with a friend and some coffee and chocolate also helps. You also have a good idea about planning something to look forward to. Take care and know that we all love you!! _________________ Vicki

| So sorry you're feeling down, Skin....all the above are great ideas.... what works for me is to get outdoors and walk ( really push yourself, dont stroll), get your heart pumping, I live just off a very long steep hill, so that is expecially helpful.....once those cool endorphins kick in, it is hard to be blue, and the rest of the day goes much better!!! If you need help, enlist your husband in pushing you out the front door:) _________________ Love is a fruit, in season at all times and within the reach of every hand. | Thanks for listening to me whinge!
I'm feeling a little better, I do think my PMT is getting worse again. I think I've overworked myself the last week or two, extra nightshifts, very broken sleep pattern which certainly hasn't helped, I just feel all messed up.
Also, I have not been eating ENOUGH chocolate so there may be withdrawal symptoms. I don't have friends I would confide in here, with regards to how I feel, I tend to bottle that up which isn't good I know, and all the family are overseas
I've had a nice shower and feel all refreshed, DH is cooking dinner tonight and we looked at a site I'd bookmarked for a mini-break which DH also thinks would do us both a world of good, just the two of us!
I will be working overnight (Friday), 3rd night of 3, but then I'm off until next Wednesday
DH had a hospital appointment today and was advised to lose weight (which he's aware of). He has started playing squash once a week and I'm considering asking him if I could tag along, I've no idea how it's played but it might be good fun learning.
Thanks for all the suggestions, you're all wonderful friends and listeners _________________ ~ LESS IS MORE ~ |

| Hmmm..how would I explain..just from observations...lol... It seems a bit like a cross between handball and tennis but played on an enclosed court. It's a very fast game. This link explains it better:
http://www.victoriansquash.com.au/HowToPlay.htm
I should read up on that before any attempts!
Oh, I'm going back to dayshifts in February (I believe)...well, dawnshifts...lol. And my dept. manager gave me another 2 free packets of bacon as I left this morning. My co-worker didn't show up, yet again, last night so that really increased my workload...again!!! He does this all the time, incredibly unreliable and undependable. Perhaps that's been getting to me also. Anyhow, that's me until next Wednesday I also bought myself a bag of chocolate covered honeycomb to eat on the way home, I've had my chocolate fix! _________________ ~ LESS IS MORE ~ |

| So sorry that you are feeling down Skin and it certainly is not surprising when you think about it. I think a lot of people have after Christmas blues and lack of sleep can really affect your moods. That bad work situation would have been enough to to send anyones' stress level soaring! Just want you to know that you are a very special person and that I hope that this down time will soon be better. I would also like to encouarge you to be good to yourself and do something each day that will make you smile. It is ok to spoil yourself just a bit....you deserve it! Listening to some of my favorite cd's (well, I keep playing the same one over and over lately, LOL) makes me feel better. I am glad that you felt comfortable enough to share with us. Keeping sadness inside makes you feel so much worse. Take care!!! _________________ MARY |
