Well dh is opposed of me homeschooling Darin and Bailey next year so I guess they will continue on with the public school system. He said we can discuss it again after they leave elementary school. I have talked with the co-op director and have offered to teach on the days they have that even though my kids won't be attending. I am also telling our local community that I am available to homeschool their children if they can't. I have set up one class on Monday from 9-1 for kindergarten-1st grade and I will teach Literature, Arts, Science and practical math (telling time, patterns, calender and money). So far I have had 3 moms tell me they would be interested. _________________ Vicki

Well Donna it is the same old myth alot of people have. For some reason he is worried about the socialization. Which I don't understand since the kids are involved in church, upward sports, and we would have gone to the the co-op/ I haven't totally given up just yet!! _________________ Vicki

I went to Public school from K-6 and Catholic school from 7-12 then a State university. The thing I like best about not being home schooled were my teachers. Every teacher left me enriched in some way. Both my parents read to us each night, taught us religion and helped with our homework, however, I really feel blessed to have had such wonderful teachers in my life. I can still remember in grammer school the thrill Mrs Simmond gave us when she read out loud, the Jewish harvest songs Mrs Watell taught us and how to write my name in Chinese from Mrs Chew. I was never big on math until one high school teacher opened up this subject to me in a way no other teacher ever had. While I commend those who wish to home school, I'm glad I was sent to school. _________________ Dear Lord, help me remember how lucky I am on both the good and the bad days!

I always went to a public school but now feel that the public schools, at least in our area, lack everything and that the kids suffer. I know that isn't the case in all places. I just feel that my kids would learn better in a different environment _________________ Vicki
