I think we will paint the floor brown of some sort...we are into the rustic country look....BUT....DH started tearing apart walls last night and we found old wooden beams in the corners, so we are leaving them exposed...they look so cool! We have wooden beams exposed in our kitchen and it looks neat, so now DH is trying to figure out what to do with the walls before we paint the floor....you never know with him! LOL

My Hubby and I have decided to do a concrete stamp to our back patio. Its where you put a skim layer of fresh consrete(which will cover the cracks and uneven parts)then you use this rubber stamo,,its about 3 feet by 3 feet,,and stamp out a pattern on the fresh concrete. This way it looks like carved rocks or bricks or what ever your stamp looks like.Im looking forwad to starting this, gonna do a little each payday.

That souds really cool! I have never heard of this before! Where did you get the idea?

We tore apart more of the dining room tonight and DH did some electrical work...tomorrow we are taking out the bar in the middle of the kitchen and moving a counter and a few things...it's coming along nicely Smile

Wow, kim, that's sounding more involved by the minute! I'm sure it's going to look fantastic when it's finished. I love exposed beams too.

Donna, that's a very popular option over here in Aus. many patio areas and driveways are finished like this.

I was going to have that done out back but it was a little more expensive so we just had a new, smooth, concrete finish put down and I bought the proper concrete stencil tape (basically like masking tape but narrower and for outdoor use) and some tins of textured paving paint and I'm going to mark out large diamonds patterns with the tape and using my terracotta coloured textured paving paint (already purchased) I'll give it a few coats before removing the stencil tape...I hope it looks even....hehe...
I know you can also buy (or hire?) the stamps also...it sounds like a lot of work....good luck with it....I hope it turns out great Very Happy
