PostSubject: Boiling the kettle less   Sat 01 Mar 2008, 10:52 am

I read and posted this tip before but hadn't really put it into use until last week Embarassed

If you drink a lot of tea/coffee during the day, boil the kettle once and pour the hot water into a thermos flask to use throughout the day.

DH has commented on how often I boil the kettle, then I get distracted by something else before making my 'cuppa', then I have to reboil it when I get back. I had done this a few times every day! While doing my kitchen organizing in February, I pulled out a thermos flask from the back of a base cupboard and now keep it beside the kettle. I fill it with boiling water every morning and use it all day, then wash it out each night. Better late than never, eh? Laughing

Skin, why wash out the thermos, it's only been holding boiled water in it all day!

Teri, it's a stainless steel thermos and it'd probably collect deposits like the kettle so I reckon prevention is better than cure...lol...which reminds me, I need descaler for my kettle, I've tried vinegar and it's not quite as effective.
