if your homeamde cookies burn on the bottom try this: turn your cookie sheet upside down and place dough on the bottom of the shett. Don't ask why cause you will get no answer.

Add 2-3 tbsp white vinegar to dish detergent to make it easier on your hands and your dishes shiny.

Use empty and clean snack size pudding cups to make large ice cubes for pitchers of tea or lemonade and such.

Coat pot with cooking spray before making oatmeal or cream of wheat for easier clean up

In homemade brownies substitute 1/2 tsp peppermint extract for the vanilla.

To make brownies extra fudgy add 1 tbsp corn syrup (boxed or homemade)

Use preserves or jelly to brush on a glaze on baked pork or chicken

To make brown gravy just stir in 1 tsp brewed coffee. It doesn't affect the taste just color

When making cupcakes make more than you need and then freeze. Icing when you take them out.

For a fluffier omelet add a pinch of cornstarch to the beaten eggs.

Overrripe bananas - mash and spread on rice cakes can add peanut butter first.

Use coffee filters in bottom of microwave dish before cooking bacon. More absorbant than paper towels

peel a weeks worth of potatoes at one time and place in a bowl of salt water and keep in refrig.(make sure they are covered completely)

Carrots and celery keep longer when placed in a large jar and covered with water. Change water once a week

Store brown sugar in the freezer and it will not harden

To keep crackers crisp store in container with a dry papertowel

electric skillets use half of the electricity

Potato chips freeze well

add flavored extract to pancake batter for a different taste. 1/4 tsp for 6 pancakes, 1/2 tsp for 12

To refresh soggy crackers or cereal place on cookie sheet and bake in a 350 degree oven for a few minutes

to revive wilted lettuce - dip in hot water, rinse in ice water with a little salt added. Shake and refrigerate for 1 hour

I haven't heard of most of these. Thank you... Do you know if the burnt cookie trick really works?

escarcha - not sure if it works but I read somewhere else if you didn't have a cookie sheet to turn a baking pan upside down and use that. It wouldn't hurt to try

These are great tips, thanks.
I'm wondering about storing the potatoes in salt water because I know you use a potato in a pot of soup if it's too salty...do they absorb the salt?
