Christmas Projects

LOL..I know,,your thinking its June and Donna is starting a post about Christmas!!!!!As of today Christmas is like20-25 weeks away.For my husbands side of the family we get together with them before Christmas because we have some comming from out of state,,etc.

I am starting to work on a project as a group gift for his side.One is a calendar made with family photos I am going to try to make off the computer and add some scrapbooking details to each.One per family.Thats a total of 5!(Which is why I am starting now!) idea

I am wanting to make a quilt for each son(2) so I need to start them each evening when they are at work.Also would like to make lil blankets for grandkids,,which is 4 plus my neice who is the grandkids age also.!
I know it seems to be alot but I think I can do it.(The blankets for the grandkids would be those ones that are printed with disnet,cartoons,,etx,,and you tie them on the sides..I would post one when I get it done)
Anyone else making or creating gifts?

Donna I am already in Christmas crafting .. I made a quilt for my newest Dil I made bears and Dolls for the grils..
I doing pillow cases ...
I am on the look out for Christmas presents .. I work at all the time

I too am allready into Christmas. I LOVE to do Primitive Sitchery....so I am making Christmas candle mats for gifts...that's it so far...but tomorrow I am picking and making strawberry jam...will use some for gifts, if that counts. Smile

Do you have any pictures of your candle mats...we make candles also,,was thinking of giving them out to friends,,candle mats sound like something we could make to go along with it.

I've already done more than half my Christmas gift shopping, I started on Boxing Day! Razz

I have already knit several scarves with fancy wool for my Mum, sis, cousin and nieces. I also picked up great bargains on handbags to go with a few, for the girls.

I've seen photos of a Santa face & Snowman face scarf on the internet although they were made using some kind of knitting machine (or such). I'm currently attempting the snowman scarf (using needles) for my great niece for Christmas, she'll be 2 years old. I was going to try the Santa version but reckoned she'd get longer use from the snowman!

I also want to attempt personalizing Christmas bauble ornaments for gifts this year. I have no idea how they'll turn out Razz

Skin,,thats great,,I love home made gifts,,knitting is such a nice talent to have.I orochet a little,,but have never given any away as gifts.To be 1/2 done is great!

That is funny the Christmas has been brought up because I went to the mall with my mom and her husband on Saturday, and found 2 things I'd like to get for Todd - she laughed at me. It is nice to see my frugal friends think like I do!

The stawberry jam is a great idea.
I already have things for my SIL and her girls (3 of them) from last year that I got for a huge discount after Christmas (I think 75% off?). I also have some small things for my MIL : oh wait, we got her some nice sweaters last year for pretty cheap. With my father, he normally comes out with a list of things about 3 weeks before - so I will wait until then to get his list. And my mom...she always loves Bath & Body works shower jel (got it on clearance last year), and Todd and I have been thinking about getting her a bicycle to go riding with us. I will wait until the end of the season when I can find one on clearance (hopefully). She will take a smaller size because she is 5 foot tall.

You ladies amaze me. I am clueless about Christmas. Beside my dh, and children I have gifts to do for my mom, her dh, brother, sil, niece, sister, bil, niece and nephew. The problem is..... I am not a craft person. I have no clue what to make for anyone that they would like

Vicki,,jump online and look up cragts,,sewing hobbies etc.Im sure there is a craft just tailored to you! I know Hobby Lobby had a page on their site filled with different crafts from all kinds of things,,hope that helps!

Thanks Donna I will look at that site. My favorite and all time best thing is cooking so I usually just do up food baskets or mixes thrown in a basket. Would really like to do something different this year
