PostSubject: Preparing early..   Tue 26 Dec 2006, 12:07 am

Okay, I know it's only Boxing Day!
We had a wonderfully quiet Christmas day, opened our gifts, DH cooked dinner, we watched some dvd movies and spent the evening with our neighbours and exchanged a few more gifts.
DS was working today (Boxing Day) so after dropping him at work at 9am I headed to the shopping centre, something I NEVER normally do (he'd asked if I could pick up a dvd for him he'd seen), I hate crowds. Well....sure enough....it was like a crazy madhouse and even worse an hour later as I was leaving, I certainly wasn't planning on hanging around. I saw people leaving with trolleys full of all sorts of stuff.
Anyhow I'm partially prepared for next year...lol. Every store had 50% off Christmas stock. I got a 12m roll of Xmas wrapping paper for $1.74, 2 x 16pk luxury Xmas cards for $1.45 per pack. I also got some gorgeous multi-pack glass Christmas decorations (half-price) which I can either use next year or I'd planned to split them (personalize the plainer ones) and give in sets of 3s with next years Christmas gifts! I also got some beautiful gift bags for just over $1 each which have gold swirly patterns and bordered around the top with black velvet with a black tassel hanging down the front (half-price!), I can use those for any occasion!
Oh, one more, the last shop I visited had the most pretty little porcelain/china votive holders....they look like a little ball on a pedestal and were intricately carved with an all over lacy pattern, they came in a box and were reduced to $1.95! They're also an anytime gift so I bought 2, I just need to add a tealight and package prettily. Phew...all in an hours work! Then I got home, put my feet up and DH made us two nice mugs of tea!

Skin,

I plan on doing the same.
Not today, but maybe tomorrow before work.
Todd and I are planning on getting some shopping done for NEXT year (gifts for his sister, her husband, and 3 kids), and maybe some odds and ends for his mom and dad, maybe my parents, etc. Depends on what I can find. :-)

Great going skin. I won a salt and pepper shaker set on ebay for my mom for next year and I am heading out today to the stores.

I want to go out later if the rain lets up and before the snow starts

Love after Christmas sales! I have pretty much had enough wrapping paper to do Christmas with that I bought from the previuos Christmas sales! Always pays to be organized and a keen eye for those sales!

I hope you find some great bargains M!

I hope you find some good deals too Vicki, great win on the shakers!

I work at the large shopping centre & today I worked 6am until 4:30pm. So I headed back to the homewares store and bought another two of those pretty votive holders @ $1.95 each. I told a few friends from work and they're going to check them out tomorrow. I love 'anytime' gifts!

I'd also seen some Xmas tin cannisters yesterday (assorted sizes) in a dollar-type store which were on clearance at half-price. When I'd arrived home yesterday I thought that they would've been good to package up my Christmas decoration sets next year, to protect them from damage and the recipient could also re-use the tin. I checked the store after work today and picked up 4 @ .75c each! Smile
