| Today, the roofers started on the roof of our house. It should take them just one more day to finish. It may snow here tomorrow, so it may not be until next week until they finish. We just got quotes on getting some of our trees cut down. We found the guy we are going with - $2500 to cut down 5 VERY TALL trees, trim a couple of others away from the house, and some other work. That is $12,500 cheaper than our most expensive quote (of $15K)! I told Todd to call him and schedule his services for next week if he's available. Also, we have old slatted doors in the new house (you can hear right through them). We've wanted to replace them with a certain type of door that cost $85/each. Well, Home Depot has doors on sale for $19/each until next Wednesday! I talked to Todd, and he's fine with the standard 6 panel door. We will need just 4 of them. $340 versus $76. Hmmm... tough decision. :-) We are almost done with the buying spree for the house! Then we will have to worry about paying off everything! :-) We have 3 windows waiting to be installed (by Todd), lights for on the garage on the outside, ceiling fans, a fan for the bathroom, non-name-brand Pergo flooring to be installed, etc. Todd is surely chipping away at the list...poor guy. The last buy I think we will do this spring is for picket fencing for the front yard and a new hot water heater (Propane). No more big purchases! ~M _________________ "It is not how much money you make - it is how you spend it." |

| Great savings by shopping around M,
Are you putting wired or solar lights outside the garage? We have a wired wall-light outside our front door. We rarely use it but a few times have forgotten to turn it off overnight. I've thought about changing it to either a solar or sensor light. _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| Skin, No, they are just regular lights. Todd puts something in there that when it gets dark, the lights come on. I know it's not the most efficient, but they work well for us.
Where I live, there are no street lights. It is way too dark to come home to a pitch black house. I couldnt even see my keys before Todd put up the light by the door.
