| I didn't decorate a can like skin did and don't think I could match her for creativity but I did find a small tin that has an old world type santa on the lid and pine cones around the base so am going to use that. |

| DF that sounds perfect and very cute. You know, now that I think about it, I purchased 4 decorated Christmas themed tins half-price after Christmas for .75c each. I could've just used one of those (duhh) but I'd bought them to put the baubles I'm going to personalize as gifts into, I've never tried that before so goodness knows how they'll turn out I haven't started my snowman-can yet, need to wait on another empty can (I could spray the inside of an empty jar white and glue on button eyes and mouth I suppose.....or.....I wonder if I could spray the outside of a jar with fake snow?!?!?....that might prove messy). I'm thinking of a reindeer also....with a red pompom nose....not sure about the antlers though.... I can use these for Christmas decorations too DH put $5 in change into my can....woohoo...he's not getting it back _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| Lol DF...I don't know, it depends on how much you want to (or can afford to) pop in each week. So far I have 3 weeks worth in it, I decided to aim for $5 per week for now (especially since I haven't done one yet for DH or DS, so I might divide it when I complete those). I've saved $20 so far but $5 was contributed by DH in pocket change and like I said already....HE'S NOT GETTING IT BACK!!!
I think it would be good to aim for a 'minimum' set dollar value every week even if it's one dollar so you know that your saving 'at least' that amount each and every week. If you can afford to drop a little extra in there....well, that's just a bonus Let's not forget ladies...this money is only to be spent on YOURSELF come Christmas...'GUILT-FREE'
I put my set amount in every Wednesday which is my payday and the day on which I also pay any due bills, that way I don't forget each week. I've also put in a sheet of paper and a pen and keep a running total....that way I can 'window-shop' for my treat as I'll have a ballpark figure to work with _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| OK - now I know it should be 3 weeks worth of what I planned. I'm two weeks behind I'll catch up this week though. |

| I've been wondering how this is going for anyone who thought of participating and if they continued...I stuck with the $5 per week (because I hadn't gotten around to making 1 each for DH and DS as yet ). DH did 'dip into' my jar a while ago because he had no cash but I made him put it straight back on payday because it's MINE!!! I have now hidden it
I cannot believe how quickly it's adding up, I have $70 already with approx. 5 months still to save !!!
<--This will be me on my 'splurge' day. _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| The closer it gets to Christmas, the more I'm thinking about what I want to treat myself to! Of course there will be CHOCOLATE, let's not doubt that.... but.... I'm wondering if I should keep my splurge until the post-Christmas sales
Did anyone else stick with this idea? _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| | I forgot to add money on a regular basis. It was more like "Oh look - I have $5 in my jeans. I'll throw it in my can". |
