Ok...so we are starting another month...any ideas on what product we want to try? Maybe something to make the house smell good as spring is coming?

That sounds good.

I don't use any spray though. I am a big candle person and dh usually buys me yankee candles but the last few I haven't gotten the smell hasn't been that noticeable. Rachel burns a candle we got her from Walmart though and I can smell it downstairs.

I use the "oil burners" myself.
They are expensive, though.
$19.99 for the burner from Kirklands, and then the oil is $10.00/bottle.

But it scents the whole house - and burns for quite some time.

Kim, I like this product idea for this month.

It's great that you make your own candles Donna, I don't know if I'd have the patience but I suppose you can make a lot at one time?

M..when you say oil-burner, does it actually burn fragranced oil???
I use what I refer to as an oil burner but it's actually a small dish where a tealight candle is inserted beneath, the dish is filled with water and some drops of fragranced oil are added to the water. There is a huge variety of scents available and they're really cheap at dollar-type stores. I don't use them all the time though but they're so nice when we're having company or I just feel like freshening the place up a little Wink

I have some incense sticks which I rarely ever used and now don't really like to since reading some bad things about them. DS will use them an odd time in his room, they're quite strong but I won't replace those when they've gone.

Late last month I did think I'd try something different, so I'm going to cheat and use it as this month's trial...lol. I bought fragranced gel in a glass dish for the toilet (on SPECIAL...always a good time for a trial Wink ) which is supposed to last for 4 weeks. It's very nice and now into it's 3rd week, not sure if it will totally last for 4 weeks as the scent has been diminishing along the way...we'll see. I also bought an Ambi-Pur perfumed plug-in freshener (on SPECIAL also!). I think it's supposed to last approx. 6 weeks but I've only switched it on a few times and it is pretty nice. I don't think I'd use it all the time but it'd be a quick way to get an area smelling nice.

Normally I just open all of my windows every day and turn on the ceiling fan to draw breezes through, I have some scented candles but rarely use them, mainly only when relaxing with a bubble-bath but it's way too hot here in summer for that! I do shower though laugh

BTW, I have read articles which suggest dabbing fragranced oil onto light globes with cotton wool and the heat (when the light is switched on) will release the fragrance. I have always meant to try that but haven't as yet, I wonder how effective it'd be, I must remember to give it a whirl. One article even suggested trying this with perfume...hmmm....

Lavender in anything is great for my daughter...it helps calm her when she gets stressed....she particularly loves it in her bath....

Skin,
The burner I was referring to burns scented oil - and smells the house up beautifully. You have to have a special burner (they are very decorative) and have to buy the scented oil (very expensive).

I get them from Kirklands when on sale or get $5.00 off from them in the mail.
I bought the burner several years ago. It has a stone that is connected to a wick. You light the stone and let it burn for about 3-5 minutes. Blow it out, and the warm stone pulls the scent thru the wick and scents the room as long as the stone is hot.
