I was thinking about what I could do with my old Christmas cards..and how much it costs to mail them...so I was thinking about making postcards out of the front of my old cards...I think the postage is about 1/2 the price for a postcard..not sure what I will do. Smile

It is much cheaper to send a postcard kim and that would be a good idea. Just make sure you don't send one back to whoever sent it to you, that'd be a little bit embarrassing Embarassed Laughing

Kim,
I think it's a great idea!
Good way to think "outside the box."
The cost for a post card is just $0.26
That is a $0.15 difference than first class mail.
WOW!

Kim,
Another thing you can do with old Christmas cards is to use them as gift tags or I have wrapped in plain white or brown paper and glued the old cards on to decorate the packages.

I use to know a thrifty Mennonite family that would cut off the back of cards and glue the front on a piece of colored paer to make a new card. I believe that they did use the front for postcards also. When I was a child sometimes we would cut around the shapes and glue them on a rectangle of thin cardboard or paper, and then covered them with clear contact paper. They made pretty Christmas placemates that could be wiped off and used again.

Some years we have also taken a stack of cards (without envelopes), or postcards to the nursing home when we visit Hospice patients, and handed them out to their roommates and others sitting in the hall. They like something pretty to hold on to.

Another idea is to use ones with nice images and cut out strips to use for bookmarks.
