| Some Dangerous Common Ingredients in Synthetic Beauty Products
Acetone - It may acutely toxic if large amounts are swallowed, inhaled or absorbed thru the skin. Acetone exposure can damage the central nervous system and irritate the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract. Animal studies have shown that long term exposure can cause birth defects, kidney,liver and nerve damage and damage to the reproductive system
Isopropyl alcohol (sometimes know as rubbing alcohol) can cause dermatitis and skin damage, the fumes can cause dizziness, weakness, fatigue and nausea and if swallowed can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Chronic overexposure can cause kidney, liver and brain damage.
Denatured alcohol (is ethyl alcohol)commonly used as a skin disinfectant and for alcohol skin rubs. Same type as in alcoholic beverages but law requires that a noxious substance be added to prevent people from drinking it.
Glycol ethers such a propylene glycol are found in moisturizers, lotions, perfume, soaps, shampoos, cream rinses, cosmetics, deodorants and toothpaste. It is also used as an antifreeze, in brake fluid and hydraulic fluid and as a deicer. It can cause contact dermatitis and kidney and liver damage. If ingested it can cause intestinal distress and damage the nervous system.
Formaldehyde is commonly used as preservative in shampoos, cosmetics, nail polish and embalmed corpses. It is a known carcinogen and cause birth defects in lab animals.
Triclosan is the most commonly used antimicrobial. It is found in antimicrobial toothpaste, deodorant soaps, deodorants, antiperspirants, body washes, detergents, cosmetics, lotions, and band soaps. It is also found in a large percentage of our surface waters

| this is so scary I try to limit every thng in our house we recently had the carpet taken up the chemicals werent worth it . We have harwood in the house.

| Good for you and your family, Gayla....I have never liked having carpets...never felt I could get and keep them clean enough....but since I live in an apartment, I guess I would get in trouble if I took it up and doubt the management would put down hardwood floors for us....sigh...

| we did it because I didnt like the smell in the bedroom I had a headache all the time .. so I had it removed and the floors refinished .. we are moving to be greem

| We want to pull up the carpet in the living room and hall and put down wood. We have them in kitchen and Bayley's room (actually it is pergo board)
