| I discovered a great green tip today regarding gift bags...use a reusable tote, like the kind you buy from your food markets, to present your gift in! I was reading that someone did this with her Christmas gifts this year with Whole Foods market bags...they're green (in color) and she just tied a big red yarn bow on them...how Christmas-y!! But I bet you could do this for any occasion. Maybe stuff the bag with some homemade food items &/or a gift certificate to the market. _________________

| I read a similar article cheapy and thought it was a wonderful idea, not to mention the 'subtle' hint....lol. Might be good to include information (or a booklet) on how to be more environmentally friendly Not everyone might appreciate it but I imagine we know our friends who would. _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| Great ideas. I reuse all gift bags and bags that we get that come with handles. I used Yankee Candle bags from last year to wrap gifts in this year. We use the alrge ones as tote bags until they break and can't be used anymore.
Skin - I like that idea about including information _________________ Vicki

| Great idea....recycling the plastic bags is ok, but am thinking it is better to not use them at all and use the sturdier bags instead...using them as gifts alone or with food in them should be a welcome gift by most people... _________________ Love is a fruit, in season at all times and within the reach of every hand. | There was an article on a current affair t.v. show here some weeks back about ordinary everyday housewives who came up with an idea and started their own businesses. Two friends were a huge success. They designed, made and sold tote-shopping bags for approx. $4 each in beautiful printed materials, huge range of colours and designs. What a great gift idea and frugal too ($4 wasn't too bad and they were very stylish even for teens).
I also read on a 'green' site about environmentally friendly/green gift ideas. e.g.: Re-usable drink bottles, thermos flasks or refillable coffee mug/flasks, lunch boxes/bags, etc. These would suit schoolkids or working people and ideal for popping into the tote-bag giftbag! _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| I'll probably have to search again Vicki...lol. I might've bookmarked it to add the link here, I'll check and add it if I can find it! It was an aussie site I believe but good ideas. _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |
