| Plain unflavored yogurt helps restore the normal activity to skin, and it makes a good cleanser for oily, acne-prone skin
Lemon Juice diluted with water makes a good astringent rinse for oily skin
Remember Cleopatra in her milk bath? Whole Milk makes a good facial cleanser for dry skin. Apply it with a cotton ball, then rinse it off with warm water
When you are cooking, moisturize your hands with leftover cooking oil or the residue from the inside of avocado skins
Egg white tightens the skin and shrinks the pores. After you break eggs into a frying pan, smooth the slime from the inside of the eggshells on your face. Let the egg white dry then rinse the dried egg off your face with warm water. Your face will feel remarkably smooth afterward.
Leftover cooked oatmeal makes a great cleansing mask, and wearing it is certainly more pleasant than eating the stuff
Vinegar may be the best all-purpose beauty portion:
Wipe or spray your skin with distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar to restore its natural acid mantle after dishwashing or bathing.
Rinse your hair with vinegar to remove the alkaline deposits left behind by shampoo. The vinegar will smooth your hair and help prevent frizziness.
If your skin tend to be dry, try washing yourself with half vinegar and half warm water rather than with soap. The vinegar will help cut body oils and will not dry out your skin. And no you will not smell as dried vinegar has no smell.
Epsom salts and kosher salt are healthy alternatives to commercial bath salts or beads

| alot of good informatiom .
I always rinse my hair with vinegar - thin but alot of hair and being a dirty blond with red hightlights I need all the help my hair can get .
avocado good for you inside and out ...
I love bee products my DS raises bees and we use honey, and the comb and wax... they are amazing creatures.. With out them we be in trouble . Be kind to bees. They are very important to the food chain.

| I read where honey is good for you also,,but I think they were referring to raw honey,,I almost bought some last week,,regular not raw,,but it was almost 4.00 a small bottle..so I passed.I plan on buying some when I get a coupon or find a good sale.
I tell you,,I think there must be 1000 ways vinegar can help in one way or another! So useful! |

| Vinegar is a running joke in our home with DH, every time I tell him I read a great tip he asks if it involves vinegar?...lol

| Donna - I use raw honey on cuts. It heals much faster than anit-bacterial ointment and is less drying. There's no residual redness left after the abrasion has healed.
I just want to mention a word of warning - if you have eczema, like I have, be careful of using epsom salts in your bath water. It can irritate the skin and cause the eczema to break out. There's no warning on the package. I found out the hard way and read this happens in a magazine. I've discontinued using it. |

| My daughter uses plain yogurt daily for taking her meds and she has a beautiful complexion  She also uses Tom's natural toothpaste and Burt's Bees products....these items are on sale pretty often in the health stores...

| The variety my daughter uses does not contain floride, not sure if it is available with it or not....we choose it because it does not have any artificial sweeteners or coloring...

| Sissy I agree about Epsom salts, I guess it helps with muscle aches but it makes my skin uncomfortably dry and itchy....

| | Yes, epsom salts work well on aching muscles and bruises. If you have eczema, you can soak your feet in the epsom salts, but be careful otherwise. |

| we love Toms of Maine toothpaste and bee products. we use raw honey here all the time we thinking of adding more hives this year ... Bees you have to love them

| | gayla, I didn't know you have bee hives. I eat a teaspoon or two of raw honey every day. It's supposed to be good for allergies and as an anti-inflamatory as well as an anti-septic. I heard that raw honey never spoils. |
