| Actually I'm going to 'guesstimate' at spending approx. $25 on my 'one spend day' next week as we'll need a petfood top-up (didn't need it this week). These shopping trips include GROCERIES/TOILETRIES/HOUSEHOLD/PETFOOD & PETROL (GAS).
Montly total approx (rounding up to the nearest $5... $490 (Aus)...$428.88 (U.S.) _________________ ~ Friends are kisses blown to us by angels ~ |

| That's great Vicki, I'm really loving the time this saves!
I wasn't prepared on Monday so held off until Tuesday, I still had petrol in my tank too! I did up a new fortnightly menu sheet (1st and 2nd week the same). Pretty soon I want to work out the best value meals and see how much lower I can go _________________ ~ Friends are kisses blown to us by angels ~ |

| I know what you mean skin. I am afraid my game is close to being over and a new one starting. DH went to the doctor and we really have to change things. I guess here soon I will have to see how cheap I can get healthy foods. They closed our Farmer's market last month so not sure where to get fresh produce now. _________________ Vicki

| I think you are doing a great job Skin and look forward to further updates. Vicki, I totally agree it is so difficult to maintain a healthy diet and keep those grocery bills low especially as food cost keep rising, but I keep trying. I am sure a lot of us would be interested in any tips you figure out. _________________ MARY |

| I've been making a 'massive' pot of vegetable soup with chicken bits every fortnight (I freeze some to use the following week). I take some to work for lunches, DH & DS snack on it too over a few days, great for warming us up now it's colder. This is very cheap to make and goes a long way! I use about 8 litres of water in the pot. _________________ ~ Friends are kisses blown to us by angels ~ |

| | Vicki we are trying too eat helthier too...I am seeing that portion size has ALOT to do with it. I feel really hungry, but soon it will get better. Think about long ago how people ate, not as much as we do! Can you grow your veggies? |

| Kim - no I can't grow anything here unless it survives in the shade. We hardly have any sun on our property. I hope to get alot cut down in the future but will have to wait and see. _________________ Vicki

| For me, I am waiting for my veggies to come in. We went to a flea market and they had alot of veggies available from cabbage to cucumbers, squash, brussell sprouts, spinach, etc.
I get my baby carrots from save a lot. :-) I love baby carrots. But I got a dozen zucchini for $2. It has been 4 days since we went to the flea market, and I am trying to make as much stuff as I can with the squash, but have only used 5 of them. I have many more to go!
When you eat smaller meals, it's like your stomach shrink. I know when I was watching what I ate, I would eat smaller meals, but several times throughout the day. Then, when I was on the cruise, I couldnt eat everything (as I previously was able to do before the diet). Your body takes about a week to adjust, but you can do it. I make sure I have plenty of water to fill my belly up with, and healthy snacks to munch on.

| I really need to get back on track with the grocery shopping. I will more than likely be going every 2 weeks since that is how DH is going to get paid now. Before when I did this I saved money so hopefully it will save us again. This will also help cut back on gas expenses. _________________ Vicki

| I was excited. I got my credit card bill yesterday...we put all our groceries and gas on the card. And my grocery total for the month of December was $35.16. I probably spent $10 cash on bread and a little fruit too. Normally we spend $100 a month for groceries. _________________ [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

| Vicki, I hope that you can get your shopping groove back on and hopefully lower your bills.. Escarcha, that is an amazing monthly total!!
Is everyone noticing how high the cost of groceries are going? It is getting shocking really, and everytime we go I see items that have gone up more. I do not know how we can cut back even more, but I have to try. _________________ MARY |
