GentleRain, I have found it to be a very positive experience so far which I am hoping to continue Not only has it helped me become better organized in the kitchen but it takes a load off my mind wondering what to make for dinner because I'd already preplanned each evenings dinner and also know that I have all the ingredients I need to cook each meal. It's been great so far. I filled my tank with petrol on Monday, it's now Saturday evening and I've used approx. 1/4 tank of fuel! It just took a little of my time (over a nice mug of coffee at home) to plan a weekly menu and work out 2 weeks worth of ingredients, plus check for other necessities....EASY, PEASY, LEMON SQUEEZY!!! I have also found that I have a more spare time for ME! _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| Fantastic Skinflint! I must say that it has been really interesting to hear about how organized you are and how you have worked to save money, time and gas and even have gained some time for your self in the process. Your DH and DS must be pretty proud of you too! _________________ MARY |

| Aww thanks GentleRain
Actually most of my efforts amuse DH and DS...they think I'm loco...lol...
But...I'M PROUD OF MY EFFORTS!!! Anything that makes my life easier (i.e. less rushed & stressful) gets a big thumbs up from moi!!! _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| Ah well, Skinflint you have to do what makes your heart sing, I always say. Look at it this way, you are providing a source of free, frugal entertainment for your family, right? Also, they might not be too happy if you were a "shop 'til you drop" kind of gal. You know the kind that gathers credit card debt whenever they leave the house. See, they like your frugal, organized lifestyle.....they just don't know it yet! _________________ MARY |

| Quick update:
I had my weekly 'one spend day' today (Tuesday) as I didn't need anything urgently on Monday. I also browsed around Aldi where I found I few items I might 'try' on my next big shop to see how they compare tastewise. At the supermarket I spent $16 to take us through to next week (fresh milk & veggies). This total included a few extra replacement items that DH gorbed on because they were in the house! Not too bad at all! I don't know what to do with all my spare time....oh yeah...be lazy! I also bought curtain tape today as I'd finally sewn up the curtains for DS's bedroom, they were originally rod-pocket curtains but we replaced the track and after I'd stitched the new tape on I ironed and hung them...they look cosy! Hmmm....I need another project! _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| That's great Vicki. I can't believe how much time I save just by getting better organized with my shopping...not to mention saving money by avoiding all those in-between shopping trips! It's great, huh? _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| Yes skin It is awesome. It was really nice this week knowing I didn't have to squeeze in the shopping with everything else I had to do before leaving again. I got my list and coupons ready so I can go on Sunday again for my 2 weeks. _________________ Vicki

| I wrote this in the Polls about Grocery Shopping, but thought I'd write it here as well.
I am reading a book called : America's Cheapest Family.
Not only is it about saving at the grocery store, but it is about other aspects of frugality. So far, very interesting. I recommend it to everyone.
