PostSubject: Cheap Thrills for March   Sat 01 Mar 2008, 8:10 pm

Our hot water heater has been going bad for atleast 3 months!Hubby has to light it about 6-8 times just to get a "warm"shower for one of us,,then has to go through that all over again for the other to shower! For the last week,I have been heating water on the stove to do dishes in.Today we went to Lowes (we had been pricing Hot water heaters for a week) and had plans to buy one for 299.99.Its a 40 gallon gas. We went shopping today and found it with a torn box,,,Lowes gave it to us for 10% off!Thats a 29.00 savings! The hot water heater was in perfect condition!!cheers

Also the chimney kit we purchased back in November for the wood burning stove didnt have a storm collar(Its a ring that goes around the pipe to keep rain, snow,,etc.from comming back in the house). We have to have a contractor purchase this since we couldnt find one on our own.My husband told the Lowes salesman that our kit was missing it when we purchased it,,,they gave us one from another kit!FOR FREE!!! They will send that kit back to the dealer,,we didnt even have our recepit with us,,he went on our word.Theres some good people in this world!cheers

Great saving on the water heater Donna, I bet you're really glad to have that working again Smile

Nice of the salesman to give you the storm collar kit, didn't you contact them at the time you found it missing? I'm sure they would've replaced it then rather than you having to get a contractor to source one for you. Seems like they have good customer service though.

Spirit,
I just looked at our Walgreen's ad online (for the one by where I work), and milk is $2.69/gallon. Strange how it changes from coast to coast.

I may pick up 2-3 and freeze them. We had done without milk for about a week and a half because we ran out for last month. I bought some at Giant Eagle for $2.77/gallon, but I see we are going thru it pretty quickly.

Thank you for the heads up!

~M

Walgreens here has milk for $2.69 also. Meijer has it for $2.50 this week and Kroger has their 1/2 gallon for $1.25. It is a stock up week.
