| I reckon it's time to start off a new month
I'm not expecting to get many this month, unless it's household essentials related since that's all I'm allowed to buy on my 'no spend' month, not sure if I'll have many...we'll have to wait and see. _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| Went to the grocery store this morning before work.
I got 2 boxes of Pizza Rolls for $0.20 each after sales and double coupons.
I also got 4 boxes of Green Giant Gourmet frozen veggies and frozen rice with veggies for $0.50/each with sales and double coupons.
The total bill for all of this at Giant Eagle: $2.80
Then went to Walgreens and got 2 gallons of milk for $2.69/gallon.
The items from Giant Eagle will remain in a bag in the freezer for our vacation in 1 month. I thought the pizza rolls would be a great snack for Todd, and the gourmet veggies/rice could be for dinners with red skin potatoes and a meat (chicken cordon bleu, steak, stuffed flounder, etc. we are planning on cooking to save money on vacation).

| Yes Donna. Safeway is a grocery store. It tends to be expensive so I usually only shop the sales paper and look at the discounted meats. They also have a gas station where if you use you card they give you $.03 off a gal. I used part of my gift card for gas yesterday and was able to get it for $3.22 a gal _________________ Vicki |

| Great buys M!!
I am very happy for you, Vicki
Donna that's great about your giftcard.
I went to my MIL house and she was cleaning out her basement and she gace each kid a toy, I got 6 awesome old fasioned mugs, plastic old fasioned looking cups for the kids, and she gave me and old cookie jar she had out when Rob was a kid... Also, my brothers apartment burned down ( the same brother who's house burnt down! ) so for them she gave me a nice set of drinking glasses, pots & pans, toaster oven, 2 small casserole dishes, and I have some more stuff for them...But I was thrilled! |

| Thank you...my brother and his wife are pretty shaken up.
Yesterday DH loaded us all up in the van for a day of fun! We took the kids to pizza hut to use thier book-it's and long story short we ended up with %25 off our bill b/c of a mistake they made...funny thing is we didn't even know they made a mistake...our waitress told us...lol.. THEN he took us to a cool auction type store where he bought me a beautiful cast iron hot plate..and we got stuff for our church classroom...didn't spend much of anything...THEN..he took me to a store called Mountain Momma;s it's WAY WAY up on the mountain...and this woman has a store...it's the COOLEST store ever! It's like stepping back in time,...it was so cool! I got a pair of cutains...they go to the floor and have a vintage cross stitch pattern that COVERS the whole curtain...it will take me years to finish them, it looked like something my Grandma wou;d have owned so I had to buy them! And also got a cool candel holder and candle for $3~ it was awesome! Then we got incoted to play at my best friends house~ Oh yeah and the day before my best friend took me to an Amish community and we went to shops, but this is not your typical Amish commmunity like in Lancaster, this was back roads and "real" people, dirty, poor, and the NICEST people you could ever meet! I got to learn about quilting from an Amish woman! I talked about canning and things with the ladies from the shops...it was GREAT!!!! |
