good reusing of the basketball stand Vicki...I had to make a quick run to my local grocery store yesterday...found good produce markdowns....a 16oz bag of cabbage/carrot mix for coleslaw for 9 cents Shocked ...sell by date is tomorrow but still not sure if they meant that price but I grabbed it and cooked it with some lean ground beef also marked down and it went fast Wink I also got some broccoli/carrot bagged mixes quite cheap and just tossed them in my freezer...also got dry dog food, chunky soup, canned beans, coffee filters, tea towels, and a box of tissues, all 50% off or more....

oh almost forgot to mention my dumpster cheap(free) thrill....a beautiful floral rug(carpet fabric, not machine washable)...a runner style - about 2 by 5 feet..and yes it is clean...I did the sniff test, lol and my dog did not pay it any attention which means it is really clean Rolling Eyes I sprayed some mild natural cleaner on it anyway and brushed it up and it is good to go..... sunny

A couple of months ago, a pipe broke at the Akron house - leaving us with a $525 water bill. We were put on a payment plan to get the bill taken care of.

I received a call from the water company today, nearly 2 months after the pipe burst, and they are crediting us $265!
Now, we only have two more months of payments, and the water bill is taken care of.

When I called an talked to the water company originally, they would not credit anything. They said I'd have to talk to the "Law Department." I wasnt going to fight it.

This is a nice break for us.
Now, if only the gas company would do that for the nearly $550 bill from when the thermostat broke and we were heating the house at 94 degrees constantly. :-)

That's a nice credit M, shame about the gas company though.

How often do you check on the Akron house? Have you made arrangements for renting it out yet?

Todd is still working on the floors.
But we check the house at least once a month when we go to our parents house.

We hope to put it up for rent/land contract by June.
