| Donna, for a long time I was unaware of many of the projects, etc in our city. I'm learning quickly how many there are and how much need there truly is. I'm so glad you feel inspired to check things out where you are. It feels good to help others in need. That's another reason I'm finding Freecycle extra special, I keep an eye out for items that can be donated to needy children or the homeless, it helps my budget, the group's budget plus the donator knows they've truly helped someone down on their luck and they're entitled to feel good about that too. I hope you find something and have some spare time to participate. As the Knitting Group Owner Says 'Even one item can help someone less fortunate'. There is no pressure placed on members, it's whatever you can and whenever you can. This has all made me realize how lucky my family is and many of our troubles/worries are incredibly trivial in comparison. _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |
