A simple can of condensed soup becomes restaurant quality with the addition of evaporated milk for regular milk or water that the recipe calls for on the label. Its makes the soup such as tomato, mushroom potato or a chowder full and delicious.

Try evaporated milk in place of regular milk called for on the package of macaroni & cheese . Your dish becomes creamer and cheesier .

try evaporated milk in place of regular milk in your instant pudding . Your pudding will be velvety smooth, rich and creamy, just like homemade.

Thank you Gayla,,gonna try this out for sure!

When I worked at a kitchen for a retirememnt place,,the cook boiled a can of evaporated milk,,took the paper off the can,,boiled it in a pot with the water staying boiling for like 2 hours(?) I will have to check with him on the time to make sure..did you know it turned into the most creammy can of carmel you have ever tasted! You have to wait till the can cools to handle and open first also.He had to do it to prove it to me,,LOL I thought he was jokin.

Donna, that use to be popular when I was a kid except we did it with sweetened condensed milk. It seemed like magic to me as a child. Maybe with the evaporated milk you add the sugar later after boiling? However, we heard later on that the can could explode so we never did it again. I am really not sure if that was true or an urban ledgend.
