Easy Salisbury Steak & Gravy Recipe

You need:
1 lb ground beef
1/2 roll crackers, crushed
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 egg
1 Tbsp minced dried onion (from spice aisle)
1 can Swanson beef broth
1 can (4 oz) sliced mushrooms
2 Tbsp flour

In a large mixing bowl, mix together the ground beef, egg, and crushed crackers (any type will do, from buttery to wheat crackers). Shape the groud beef into four oval patties and place in a skillet. Sprinkle the patties with the salt, pepper, and onion chips. Brown both sides of the patties then drain the grease from the pan. (You may want to remove them from the pan, pour out the grease, then replace the patties.) Add the beef broth and mushrooms and bring the contents of the skillet to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer the contents until the beef is completely done inside. Remove the beef and mushrooms to a deep platter (slotted spoon is handy for removing mushrooms) and add the flour to the broth in the skillet to thicken it. Make sure the flour is incorporated thoroughly. Simmer the broth, stirring constantly, until it thickens into gravy; increase heat to speed up this process, but be careful not to burn the gravy. Pour the gravy over the patties and mushrooms and serve.

I left out the mushrooms because we don't like them. I also used 2 bouillon cubes with 2 cups water instead of broth. I didn't drain the grease as there wasn't much there and I added the flour to it, made a paste then added the broth.
