Powdered Milk

Who here buys and uses powdered milk? Do you use store brand or a name brand? How much does it cost in your area? Where do you buy it?

I do I do I get mine at a local store it was on sale awhile back and I got it for $ 5.99 for the big box ..
I was at Walmart and the discounted Carnation to $6.99 I got 4 box of it I have it in storage .
I use for baking and cooking my family will drink it I blend 1/2 of mild to
I will check on the prices today and check on powdered eggs.

I read where a lady said she mixes powder milk to her real milk when its at the 1/2 gallon point.She mixes in enough powder milk to it and said her kids could never tell the difference.We are out of milk riht now ,I have some powder milk here now from a recipe the grandkids and I made.When we buy milk next time I think Im gonna try this with a glass.We buy 1% at our home..not sure if that makes a difference.

Hate to say it but never heard of powdered eggs before,,might be something to look into and put back for those"just in case" moments.

I use the powdered milk all the time but need more and it seems so expensive now. I will have to check my Walmart

My mom used to give it to us when we were growing up and I could always tell the difference. I'd go to the neighbors for milk when I wanted the "good stuff". As a result I don't use it now.

I use it in cooking and will mix some in with my milk when it gets half full to make it last longer. I also use it to make half -n-half for coffee.

The big box of Food Lion brand was %15.95 today. I didn't buy any

Ok Vicki today at both stores that are near by 20 quart packages of milk were $18.19 but the had 16 quart discounted to $6.38 I brought all 15 that were there I spilt with my sister in laws and my nieces .. we all mix and use for baking and cooking
powdered eggs were $5.47 at and $6.23 they its in the baking aisle near the powdered milk .. maybe it a southern thing .

I will mix it with 1/2 gallon of milk my house if they dont see it they will drink it .. But most of us here drink our own cow milk

Lucky you gayla! I love goat cheese but don't get it very often.
I've never had "raw" milk but I've heard it's really good.

We were given some powdered milk for free years ago, and it was a bit different from what you find at the store. It came in big cans and the powder was not as fine, so it took a bit more work to get it stirred up, but it was so delicious! We used to buy the kind at the grocery store, but had some trouble keeping it fresh. I just got to thinking that maybe you are supposed to store the powder in the refrigerator? I can not drink it, because I have stomach troubles with skim milk, but it was cheaper for baking. Now it has gotten so expensive, and evaporated milk has gone way up in price also.
