| 1/2 cup A&W Root Beer 4 bacon strips 1 cup chopped onion 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 cans (1 lb, 5 ounce size) pinto beans, drained 1 cup ketchup 1/3 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 2 teaspoons chili powder 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cook bacon strips in a small frying pan until crisp; cool and crumble. Reserve 1 tablespoon bacon drippings.
Saute onion and garlic in the reserved drippings over medium heat for 10 minutes or until translucent. Place bacon, chopped onion, garlic and remaining ingredients in a 2-quart casserole dish; stir until well blended. Bake, uncovered, for about 1 hour or until done _________________ Gayla
