I saw this on another website and thought it was so interesting to see what a "typical" family of four would have bought for a whole years supply of groceries in 1952 ,and also what it would have cost them. Quite different from today in so many ways, but I must say the amount of shortening scared me!!! Make sure that you click on the photograph to see the full picture.
