presents Its the middle of Febuary,,,,,do you have your Christmas list finished????
'I know,,you are thinking I am crazy,,,and your right,,most of the time...!LOL
BUT,,now is the time I feel,,to be thinking of things for the big gift giving holiday.Such as ,,Im putting back materials on sale to make some quilts for my sons this comming year,,I so wanted to last year but with the remodeling we just couldnt get to it.
Valentines day is over and some are clearance on items,,I saw red hair bows with hearts on them at the dollar store,,,they would be great stocking stuffers,,,didnt say Valentines on them,,just pretty bows with hearts!
Also saw red cups and paper plates and napkins,,,Christmas colors...St.Patrick days comming also..gonna try to grab the green stuff.
Stuffed animals holding hearts could work also as gifts. I get coupons at times from Joanns and Hobby Lobby,,I need use these for gifts too..my grandson loves trains sets and race tracks...they can run up some big money,,,sometimes these coupons are for 40% off an item!

Sheesh ladies!!! Give us some breathing space Razz J/K

But you're actually smart to start organizing and preparing early. It saves money and headaches in the long-run. DH has informed me that we'll only be buying for the kids this coming Christmas, a family decision by the in-laws, this will make life so much easier and CHEAPER Cheerleader
I often find adults (especially the men) harder to choose a gift for, we took an easy route last year and gave them all the same thing, a giftcard each for a music/dvd store.
DH does not get involved with Christmas gift-shopping for the family, he just gets something for me....I should be so lucky....lol.

Shopping after all Holidays is always a good time for bargains. I've thought a little about it, ideas and such, but haven't actually started yet as I've been concentrating on other things and I needed to recuperate from the Christmas just passed. Rolling Eyes

Good idea Donna. Have you planned on wrapping them too in case anyone 'accidentally' stumbles across them? Razz
You can colour-code your wrapping without having to name-label them!
You'd only need to do this for those who live at home though.
I used two sacks last year, they were about pillow-case size and worked a treat. It saved on paper and although all the gifts weren't individually wrapped, I knew which sack was for who Wink

The only person I don't know what I'm buying for is my husband. We actually started Christmas shopping right after last Christmas to get the deals.

We bought some really nice ornaments and my father is making us ornament hangers for them.

All the nieces are getting travel bags and I'm putting in all kinds of little gifts for them.

The parents get the usual - food and gift certificates.

I only have on gift done - my stepbrother.

I dont know what to do for everyone else just yet.
I may just start putting money aside for Christmas to come, so I dont feel so overwhelmed financially.

I was actually thinking about this over the last week. I won't have so many gifts to get for the family circle this year, kids only this year cheers

I have an extra-large empty coffee can which I'm going to decorate for this coming Christmas so it won't be MY treat jar but one for gifts for others. When DS pays his board every week (which isn't a lot) I'm going to put it into the jar. Then throughout the year I can use some to purchase any suitable gifts/bargains that I come across and later, towards the end of the year, I can use some for giftcards/vouchers for movies, books, restaurants, etc.
If there's any left, DH, DS and I can go out for dinner and a movie! Very Happy

Well...that's the plan...so far Razz

Skin...sounds like a plan. I am having trouble buying early for any kids this year. As mine are getting older there tastes change quickly...princess is cool one day and not the next...now she's into horses...who knows what's next?!?!?!?

Well, I ordered my first Christmas 2008 gift yesterday! I've found this great online discount store, much cheaper than normal retail and if I wait until what I'm interested in pops up on their 'Free Shipping' specials it's the best value.
I've ordered very nice aviator sunglasses for DS...R.R.P. is $70. I've ordered them at $19.95 with FREE shipping. He will use them as it's summertime here at Christmas. I'll probably also get him new swim-shorts and now would be a good time as summer clothing is on clearance sales everywhere now.
Another item I've seen to tie it all together is a fantastic beach towel on ebay featuring a giant dragon, he loves dragons and I'd never seen one on a beach towel so I'll keep an eye on the ones up for auction Wink

This online store also sells imported cd's for $9.95, that's less than half the price in regular stores and they often pop up on the FREE shipping specials too! A few of those will make great gifts this year.
