| Hello Ladies! I love to bounce ideas off of you all 'cuz you are super-creative!! ok...thinking caps on~
My niece is getting married & her wedding shower is in May...she & her hubby are eco-friendly young people so I thought of perhaps making them up an eco-friendly-themed basket (of goodies, products, "things", etc.)...now here is where I need help....any ideas?? any & all will be appreciated!! oh, & one more thing, I'd like to keep the cost of this basket to $40 or less~ TIA!!! _________________

| I just did a little search engine search for ideas & one thing I am going to do is use a flag (blue, with a picture of the earth on it) to WRAP up the basket instead of all that eco-UNfriendly plastic-wrap!! I can get the flag on ebay for $5 & the happy couple can re-use it every earth day!! woo-hoo! I'll try to tie it up creatively & use blue & green yarn (ecofriendly) to make a "bow" at the top.
Also, as I am thinking more about this....I could get them an organic food cookbook, wooden utensils, some organic wine, hmmmmm....any other eco-friendly kitchen/food ideas that would fit the theme? bamboo placemats? trivets? a wood tablerunner?
I think I'll stick a plant in there,too!! _________________

| LOL Cheapy,,the more you think the better you get!LOL,,I love love love this idea,,very smart creative idea! A perfect fit for the couple. One way could be a basket with books on the subject,,,solar lights for outdoors at their home....bathroom basket with nice thick towels and a low flow shower head ,,the kind that has massage on it!OOOOO if they dont want that gift send it to ME!!! The cookbook and kitchen utensils are good also!Maybe in with that kitchen one a nice typed and laminated paper with all the local farmers, organic places near them,,to use as references. I know I am going to think of this all day!!I will try to come up with more for ya! |

| I can't think right this morning but you have some great ideas cheapy! You could also stick some of the cfl bulbs in there as Walmart sells them inexpensively. _________________ Vicki

| I guess the reason my mind is stuck on an eco-friendly "kitchen"-themed basket is because I can put food in it!! organic honey, soymilk, even organic spices to stock their pantry!! plus, there's lots of little gadgets that come along with a kitchen...
Also, goat's milk soap!! in a milk & honey scent!! (told ya I was on a roll! ) _________________

I've decided to use raffia instead of yarn 'cuz I was thinking it will probably be stronger than the yarn...and "natural" looking to boot!!! _________________
