| Subject: Family Gift suggestions? Tue 23 Oct 2007, 6:09 pm | |
| I know it's a good idea to save money around holiday time by giving a 'Family Gift' that everyone can enjoy but, although I've looked, I can't find many ideas on exactly what to give.
The few I have found are:
Movie Nights ~ Dvds & snacks OR Movie rental vouchers & snacks. (Even Dvd players are so cheap to buy now which would be good for a large family!).
Games Nights ~ Board Games (suitable for all ages) & snacks.
Food fun ~ A Pizza Maker (I actually like this one as everyone can be individual with their toppings). I'm considering this for our neighbours with maybe a book on topping ideas! I shall have to price around.
Excursion/Day out ~ Admission to parks, zoo etc. (This could end up being expensive depending on the size of a family).
I do quite like the pizza maker idea, one year our neighbours gave us a pancake maker with ingredients which was fun. I haven't used it a lot since but I should. They also gave us a rice cooker the previous year which DH uses a lot, I still cook it in the microwave (less clean-up afterwards) An ice-cream maker would be fun too!
Anyone have other suggestions/ideas on what would make good 'Family Gifts'? _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| | We're giving gift baskets this year. Gift certificates are nice to give and to receive. You could get one for the family's favorite restaturant/store. |

| | Men LOVE to eat. I would give them a food basket with homemade baked goods and possibly a gift certificate in the basket for their favorite grocery store or restaurant. |

| Donna, How about making some freezer friendly dinners like a lasagna or chicken and rice bake. That way they can "cook" for their girlfriends. |
