| Subject: decoupage-ing? Sat 22 Sep 2007, 10:26 am | |
| HI girlfriends, One thing I plan to do in the kitchen is to take the light switches and outlets and decoupage them with Campbells soup labels,,save on money to buy new and adds a little touch to them.I have looked up decoupageing online but Im finding how to do it instead of MYO paste for decoupage.Anyone have this recipe,,also another craft Id like to do is to take a wooden bar stool,,nothing fancy,,just a plain one,,paint red(accents are red because of Campbells) and decoupage it with campbells labels,,do you think this would hold up to someone sitting on it and movement on it from normal wear ?Odd question I know,,but I was hoping someone might have done this with homeschooling or teaching etc! LOL Thanks for your help! |

| | Your kitchen sounds really cool! Let us know if you figure out the bar stool thing. That sounds really cool! I have some bar stools in the basement I could do that to! |

| I honestly have no idea how the surface of the decoupaged stool would stand up to use (or friction...lol). But, I was wondering if it would be possible to cover the surface perhaps with clear adhesive contact paper for an easy to keep clean surface (& protect the decoupage)...just a thought, I've no idea what it'd look like! _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| I think I would spray with a clear shellac instead of the contact paper but thats just me _________________ Vicki

| It seems to me that I have decoupaged with white glue and water before. I can't remember how long it stuck as I gave what I made away...but as far as I know the person I gave the gift to still uses it |
