| My husband and I were at a Lowes store tonight and saw a display for ceiling fan blades.I think they were called sleeves for your ceiling fan. They made a cover out of material that slipped on the ceiling fan blade like a sock,It had a nice sturdy fit,,nothing hanging down.It was in different colors and themes to match rooms decor. It was really creative but I thought how easy to make,,just need to take one blade down and make a pattern of the one then dupplicate it for the other blades. This way you could make it match your window curtains or bedpread etc. They had some with a blue backround and stars for a moonlight night theme in a room.I thought a Barbie material would be good in a girls room,,or a cars theme for boys etc.You could go crazy on decorating these. |

| Neat idea but then it gives you something else to clean. I am a very basic person I guess. To me less is better. _________________ Vicki

| That's a very novel and creative idea, one I hadn't heard before. Thanks for sharing it Donna. I think busy patterns would get lost in a blur as the blades spun around though, plainer would be better.
I remember DS telling me about a school friend who had painted his ceiling fan blades with red splatters of paint to look like blood....what can i say?!?!?! He was a drama student. _________________ ~ By sowing frugality we reap liberty, a golden harvest. --Agesilaus ~ |

| | What a great idea to perk up an old fan that is still operational but looks a bit dated or shabby! |
